In a major push towards building a future-ready technical workforce, IGNITE is set to organise the Skill Development Initiative & Industry Seminar 2026 in Kolkata, bringing together more than 600 technicians, industry experts, architects, interior designers, students and technology professionals for a day of training, knowledge exchange and industry engagement.
The initiative aims to strengthen technical capabilities through exposure to modern technologies, specialised training and emerging industry practices, while creating stronger links between skilled professionals and the evolving requirements of the industrial sector.
The programme is expected to receive the gracious presence of Shri Tapas Roy, Minister-in-Charge, Department of Industry & Commerce, Government of West Bengal, adding further significance to the initiative.
The event will feature an Industry Seminar, Exhibition-cum-Workshop and technology-focused knowledge-sharing sessions. Representatives from leading brands and organisations, including Signify, Philips, Havells and Bajaj Electricals, are also expected to participate.
Key areas of discussion will include Artificial Intelligence in Interior Designing, Future-Ready Landscaping and Design, Retrofit Bengal—from Heritage to Hi-Tech, Power Automation, AI-driven industrial development, Emerging Technologies and Skill Development for future employment.
According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to bridge the gap between industry demand and future employment, enabling technicians to upgrade their skills and adapt to rapidly changing technological requirements.
With its focus on Technology, Innovation, Skill Development and Industry Collaboration, the IGNITE initiative is expected to provide a significant platform for connecting experienced industry professionals with the next generation of technical talent and contributing to the growth of West Bengal’s industrial and technological ecosystem.
